Fight Week! - by Tim Hocking
It's fight week, and our fighters are ready to go in what is sure to be an exciting night at Myth in Maplewood this Saturday night. Matt "The Predator" Vanda (37-4, 21 KOs) has just finished getting some of the best sparring available in Caleb Truax and Phil "The Drill" Williams and is in tremendous shape. It's hard to imagine a better look at what Kolle will bring to the ring then the 6'0", 180lb southpaw Williams, and word around the campfire is that Vanda stood up well to "The Drill's" heavy hands and hammered a bit of his own too.
You will certainly see the best "Skelator" in some time under the complete direction of trainer Ron Lyke.
Caleb Truax (3-0, 3 KOs) will face potentially the biggest challenge of his young career in Jeffrey Osborne, JR. who has faced off against Zach "Jungle Boy" Walters and Kendall Gould, names certainly familiar to Upper Midwest fight fans. If Truax defeats Osborne in decisive fashion and/or stops him it will certainly be a notice to all near the 160lb division.
Phil "The Drill" Williams (5-0, 5KOs) marches forward in his quest to own the super middleweight and light heavyweight reigns in the Upper Midwest. Williams in a recent interview with www.minnesotaboxing.com called out popular Duluth light-heavyweight Walters, and is willing to take that fight now. Hopefully, Phil will continue to knock 'em down and Horton's Gym will live up to their mantra of "fighters fight" and give Williams a crack at hunting down the "Jungle Boy". Its a fight all Minnesota fans will want to see.
Jon Schmidt, Brad Laffin and Willshaun Boxley round out an action packed card. It's fight week, I hope you have your tickets and are ready to go!
